I've been getting Thermage once a year for the past three years — and this was my third round! I'd been going to dermatology clinics before, but mostly for skin management treatments, so lifting was completely new territory for me. I did a ton of research before committing. Even though the clinic wasn't exactly close to home, I found a highly experienced and trustworthy doctor through my own online research and went in for an in-person consultation.
The moment I met the doctor… his skin was absolutely stunning. That alone had me 50% sold. Then he answered every single one of my (many, many) questions with such patience and care — and I was 100% in. That was three years ago, and St. Mary's Dermatology has been my go-to Thermage clinic ever since.
One thing to note: they don't take appointments for medical skin conditions, only aesthetic treatments — just so you know going in!
What I Got Done
My full session included: Thermage FLX 600 shots + Shurink 200 shots for double chin + Intense Ultra. On top of that, returning patients get a complimentary Juvelook injection — which honestly felt like such a bonus. If you've had Juvelook, you already know how good it is. Apparently combining it with Thermage maximizes collagen production, so the two together are a seriously powerful combo. 🙌
The price is on the higher end, but given everything that was included, it didn't feel unreasonable at all.
Pain Level?
I ask for the numbing cream to be applied for about an hour before the session — I feel like that extra time really makes a difference with the pain. Some people opt for nerve block injections, but I personally stick with just the numbing cream and tough it out.
This year I was treated at around 40 kJ, and my doctor told me he was genuinely impressed that I manage with just the numbing cream — ha, the things we endure for beauty! It's not painless, but it's manageable. The most intense part? The jaw area. That one had me tearing up a little. ⚡
Authenticity Check
Before the session, my doctor opened a brand-new Thermage tip right in front of me — the packaging comes with an official authentication code that you can register on the Thermage website. Do it, because you get 2 Starbucks coupons as a reward.
Aftercare
Nothing too complicated post-treatment — but my doctor did recommend taking Vitamin C supplements to support collagen production. That's about it!
